I’m getting old and that’s good

birthday_dinner28-years-old still sounds young, but I feel like I am not. I’m very happy that I finally found the woman of my life. She gives me every day happiness. “Thank you darling to be with me.”

cake

Last Saturday evening we went in a Japanese restaurant, because I really like Japanese food. It was very interesting and “sugoi yammy” food. “Fuji of Japan” is near the train station “Enge”. For European people I can recommend it. Not for Japanese, because they changed the menu for non-Japanese. Where else you get extra much soja sauce and a Steak in a normal menu. I ate sushi and sashimi, while Yuko took the steak. Yesterday evening we went together with my parents in the same restaurant, where we celebrated our swiss wedding and it was like always a pleasure. Restaurant Waldmannsburg in Dübendorf with its beautiful view of the city.

Last Friday evening, my wife surprised me with a special present and a self-made cake. She worked for 2 weeks, many hours on an album which describes our life with self-painted pictures. It’s an incredible beautiful album within you find lovely hand-made drawings. Thank you ne! And the cake, a chocolate cake of course, was the best I’ve ever had. Big kiss to my super-wife!

Honeymoon in Greece

santoriniOur second part of the honeymoon was Greece, Athens and Santorini to be exact. Athens is a beautiful city, very clean and the people are very friendly. Also the food was good, better than the greek restaurant where I’m going to every week. Just one thing I don’t like in Greece, the language. It sounds like you have an insect in your throat. Acropolis is very beautiful and you have an amazing view in the night. After 2 days we flew to the island.

Santorini is famous for breath-taking sunsets and incredible view by the ocean. It’s true! Don’t go there with children as they would just be bored, but to spend a romantic time with your partner, it’s perfect. We stayed in a quite expensive hotel with a balcony which was bigger than the room itself. When we were sitting in the Jacuzzi, we looked at the amazing view and felt like being the last humans in the world. Totally 5 days we spent there.

Nearly every day we saw a cat, so that’s why many photos with cats are on my homepage and also SHE loves cats. We were a little bit unlucky with the weather as it rained 2 days. But that’s just an another reason for staying in the bed…

If you are more interested in my honeymoon, don’t hesitate to check my wife’s homepage as she described neatly every day we spent in Greece. Thanks to my super wife who gives me every day happiness.

Holidays in Austria and Germany

We started July 25th Saturday 11 o’clock in direction to Vienna by car and spent approx. 11 hours stucking in traffic jams, driving through construction sites and very fast on the highway. It was my longest driving ever and a little bit my fault. I’m very bad in direction and orientation, so I made a little detour, but because of that we saw a beautiful rainbow.. Bad excuse I know. But don’t worry, next day in Vienna I bought a GPS Navigationsystem.

Austria is pretty cool, especially Vienna we both love, because people are very friendly, it’s a clean city and the food is very yummy. My favorite meal was of course “Wiener Schnitzel” and as you can see under the photos, I enjoyed it many times. We spent 3 days there and later we went to Salzburg. First evening we attended a piano concert of a famous guy. I don’t remember the name but he’s a Russian and played all over the world. The highlight was to see Thomas Gottschalk there, a very famous TV entertainer from Germany.

Salzburg is a very small city, but cute and after 3 days here, the GPS guided us to Munich where we enjoyed a big beer every day. I think I put on 2 kg during these days which is a lot for me. On the way home we drove to Hohenschwangau to see the castle “Neuschwanstein” which is famous because it’s the original Disney Castle. The whole holiday was very funny and I enjoyed every minute with my super wife. Thank you ne.

Holidays in Japan

The 3 weeks holiday in Japan passed very quickly. We had a lot things to do for our wedding, went shopping in Hamamatsu very often and spent many dinners with my wifes’ friends. The first week we spent some days in Nagoya and stayed two days in Kyoto. It was wonderful and very funny, please check pictures. Some interesting things I would like to tell you:

Mobile phone: Here they prefer to have flip phones. Some of them, you can turn the screen to watch TV. My wife said you pay monthly about 80 Euro for unlimited call, email und web. When you take metro, bus or train you see compared to Europe much more people using the mobile phone. Personally each mobile never worked longer than 2 years, maybe I’m just not soft enough. Her mobile phone is 7 years old. The idea of using internet in train or bus is to save time. Cool ne!

Friendliness: Janapese people are much more friendly and kind to you than any other country I visited. The service in restaurant and shop much more convenient. In good shops there’s always one or more employe standing around and welcome you, they don’t stand around and talk with each other. Of course they bow like typical in Japan. The same when you leave. In good shops they escort you to the exit with the stuff you bought and give it then. And bow again, until you are out of sight. Really, you feel like a king in Japan.

Kindness: I’ve never seen somebody shouting or getting angry. Especially in restaurant and shop, everybody is happy and smiling. Japanese people they hide their feelings which is not very good in my opinion, but definetly better for others. They don’t wanna bother other people and always respect your privacy. They also don’t like to stick together for a long time as we european do. For meeting friends you always make appointment at least few days before.

Foot position: Interesting is that men make like a \/, typical position and here in Japan, women should make /\ which is not good in my country, even for women.

Names: In japanese discussion it is normal to say always the name, even the person is attending. It’s more polite and also easier to remember the name if you say it several times.

Stress: Japanese people like to work hard and long and on the other side, they like to relax and enjoy life. If I compare european life with japanese I would say in Europe life doesn’t have peeks, you go working and enjoy life. In Japan you work double as hard but also enjoy and relax as double. Japanese know how to live better.

Japanese wedding

It was gorgeous in every detail. When you look at the photo’s on my wedding homepage, you think of a marriage of a famous couple, but no joke, it’s just mine. Thanks to House Aino for all the work.

The wedding took 3 hours which is normal for Japanese people. In this time my darling changed her dress 3 times, first Kimono, then white dress and finally red dress. I just changed between Hakama (men’s Kimono)  and my normal dress. This is also typical Japanese.

We always were in a hurry, means we just could take a few bites of our meal. But these 2 bites of the meat was fantastic. Also great was the show “Drop and Fly” were you throw ballons in to the swimming pool, then the strings melt in 5 seconds and fly away.

A typical Japanese wedding is some kind of show for all guests. Thank you my big love for organizing this amazing wedding.

Surprise Dinner

My wife surprised me today. We walked a lot this day and I was very tired in the evening. I think I fall also asleep and she told me off to have shower.

She said we go eating Ramen (japanese noodles), so I followed here to a restaurant on the 52nd floor in Nagoya. She planned it from Switzerland and gave me a little present.

A dessert with written in chocolate “Always thank you”. What a kind wife I have..

Thank you my love!

Just married

Who ever imagined that I would marry today. Life is unpredictable. Exactly today one year ago, I had my first kiss from my wife when I was Paris. The wedding was amazing and much better than I imagined. We were surprised at a white Rolls Royce, which brought us to the wedding hall, where all our friends and family were waiting for us.

Thank you for coming to the wedding and now enjoy the pictures on the wedding page. In two weeks we go for 3 weeks to Japan, be patient for the pictures of the Japanese wedding.

My darling: I love you more than anything else!!!

I’m back

Finally after one year in Paris, I’m back in Zurich. It was a fantastic year for me. I’ve learned a lot, had plenty of time for myself, thinking about my life. I’ve also had the luck to find my big love. My Asia trip was possible just because I’ve decided to spend one year in the worldwide technical support of my company. It was generally very interesting to live in another country, different people, different language and different minds.

I wanna thank first everybody who has supported me during this year. My collegues from the L3 Technical Support in Paris, Jean-Marc from the R&D and all employes from Hong Kong. Thanks also my family for the support and a special thanks to my future wife. Going to Paris was the best idea I’ve ever had.

In my personal ranking list of the best cities to live in, Zurich is now on the 4th place. Hongkong, Paris, Tokyo and then Zurich. Right now I have a lot of work, because I’ve got a new position in my company. Pre-Sales for the german part of Switzerland. To get in this new role, I have to spend a lot of time with it and this is also the reason why I’ve a lack of posts on my homepage. Sorry!

Dinner in the Eiffel Tower

Since October 2008 I planned this evening. To be honest I wanted to have the dinner in November as a birthday present, but because it’s a high-class restaurant, you have to book at least 2 month in advance. Back then in November I spent a beautiful evening with my fiancée on a boat dinner in Paris.

The “Jules Verne” restaurant in Paris is the most beautiful and the most expensive restaurant I know and I will probably never go there again. You enter by the VIP entrance in the south pillar of the Eiffel Tower. A man with tuxedo welcomes you and you can enter the restaurant in the 2nd floor with the VIP Lift especially for the guests. No queue and nothing to pay – never was so fast up there.

I normally don’t go in such restaurants, so I was little bit scared of all waitress and waiter who welcomed you. We were the second couple there and just 2 hours later the room was full. It’s very romantic and I will never forget this incredible evening. It was really a good idea and of course Yuko was really happy. During the 4 hours we spent there, we were able to see 3 times the blinking Eiffel Tower, cool ne..

We chose the “try-all” dinner with white and red wine. From two starters, main dish with fish, with meat and the dessert with small portions. For starting the dinner we drank a glass of champagne. I was a little bit shocked while I was looking at the menu with the prices. Yuko not at all (because she got a menu without prices) :D Of course I don’t write how much I’ve spent, but as you can see on their homepage, the “try-all” menu costs 200 Euro per person, drinking not included. It’s really worth and I can completly recommend it.

The waiters were all very friendly and the English language is no problem for them (one of them had a perfect English accent). They also made jokes with us and we had a lot of fun all the time. The best place to go with your future wife.

5 days Yuko in Paris

My love will spend 5 days in Paris with me. We both took holiday for this time and because I had birthday one week before and hers is next month, we will celebrate it together. I was thinking a lot about a present for her and it’s quite hard after 7 month of knowing to present something. But it’s just important, that it’s coming from the heart.

I got from her some japanese books to learn, a very beautiful pencil and a selfmade card which touched my heart. Domo arigatou my darling! From my side I gave her this, which I worked for more than one month. To celebrate the birthday in a suitable moment, I reserved a diner on the boat. It was very romantic!
