On my mac I was always working with the Safari, which is actually a very good browser. In the office with a Windows PC I used Firefox and with all the very nice addons available now I changed also the browser on the mac. Like on the iPhone small apps are getting more interesting, doesn’t it? My favorite Firefox addons here:
- “Extended Statusbar” The statusbar will show you amount of pictures, how big a site is, with which speed it has been downloaded etc.
- “Flagfox” Was you always interested where the webserver are you connecting to is based? You will see a little flag next to the URL.
- “Adblock Plus” Advertisments are quiet annoying and distract you from the important things you want to read on a website. Use this to automatically hide them.
- “Flashblock” Flash animations are mostly as ads annoying and just waste of time and CPU. Use this to avoid starting the animations. With a click on them, you can still start them.
- “Screengrab” Did you ever tried to take a picture from a website which is actually bigger than your screen? This tool will do it for you.
- “Xmarks” And of course my favorite browser tool. Synchronize your bookmarks from home, mobile and work.
Update: Use Firefox Sync instead of Xmarks!
