I write for 7 month every day one or two mails to a hotmail account and suddenly I get a failure notice from my mail server:
Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery information and support.
I tried hard to fix this problem and created this ominous SPF entry. After 48 hours it was solved and I could write again mails to this hotmail account.
Today again, my mail was refused with the error above. After searching for a solution in the internet I found this statement of John Bern on his blog. It seems that hotmail doesn’t give the holder of the account the possibility to accept such mails. They are just refused. Now it’s time for me to pillory Microsoft for their politic. Don’t use hotmail for your mail, if you want to be sure, to get all mails. I even don’t understand why it should be MY job to fulfill their stupid requirements.
